Maddow meltdown of the week: She ought not be tackling anything with the word ‘intelligence’

One of the most entertaining parts of the Donald Trump forthcoming presidency is going to be watching the daily meltdowns of Rachel Maddow.

The MSNBC host has been unglued since Trump’s stunning election victory. Her latest episode was on Friday night.

Following the release of the declassified intelligence report that showed Russians attempted to influence the 2016 presidential election, but there was no evidence that it affected the votes, Trump responded:

“While Russia, China, other countries, outside groups and people are consistently trying to break through the cyber infrastructure of our governmental institutions, businesses and organizations including the Democrat National Committee, there was absolutely no effect on the outcome of the election including the fact that there was no tampering whatsoever with voting machines,” Trump wrote in a statement on Friday.

But Maddow must have read another report because she went ballistic on Trump’s declaration.

“What we learned when this came out is that our new president will flat out lie to us. To our faces. And even put it in writing,” she said. “He apparently will just bracingly lie to us, even about really important national security stuff. And we learned that today if we didn’t believe it before.”

Except he didn’t lie.

Maddow insisted that the president-elect lied about the report’s findings of their being “no effect on the election.”

“He blatantly and overtly, bluntly, simply lied about what is in this report,” she incorrectly declared.

The report said unequivocally there was no affect on the vote count regardless of Russian interference, but in the mind of Maddow that constitutes a lie.

Maddow based her argument on the fact that the report also said it didn’t quantify whether or not Russian interference influenced the minds of the voters. Something that is impossible to assess unless very voter was interviewed.

Perhaps Maddow ought to quit her job and volunteer to do it.
