The best of drunk Don Lemon’s live New Year’s Eve quotes (and piercings) – before CNN cut his audio!

CNN’s Don Lemon got his ear pierced on live TV as part of the network’s New Year’s Eve coverage on Saturday night.

…after downing shots of tequila.

All of which resulted in the hashtag #DrunkDonLemon trending on Twitter.

Lemon was on a live remote from a bar in New Orleans with co-host Brooke Baldwin and after downing a shot of tequila, he had his left ear pierced on camera.

“Don’t get blood on the jacket, it has to go back to Burke’s Brothers,” he told the tattoo artist doing the deed.

Lemon then starts squealing before the needle is anywhere close to his ear.

Clearly, a good time was had by all… with Lemon showing off the wares afterwards:

And to be clear, when social media users remarked that Lemon was “lit,” he took the extraordinary step of confirming as much.

“People are saying that I’m lit,” Lemon said. “Yeah, I’m lit. Who cares?”

The admission came after he bared his soul about being open to a relationship in 2017 and promising not to be “as self-centered.”

“Are we going there, right now?” his co-host asked, trying to steer Lemon away from further embarrassment.

The reaction on social media was almost as hilarious as Lemon’s drunken antics… here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:
