The socially acceptable bias against President-elect Donald Trump continues in earnest.
…bias that would have been widely denounced as flat-out discrimination if it were directed at President Barack Obama.
Mama Ayesha’s Washington, D.C., restaurant is well known for its presidential mural, which features the restaurant’s founder, Ayesha Abraham, standing with 11 presidents, from Dwight D. Eisenhower to Barack Obama.

Amir Abu-El-Hawa, the founder’s great-nephew, told the Washingtonian, “This is Mama welcoming the presidents to D.C.”
But even though there’s room for two more presidents, the business had no plans for Trump’s likeness to be added.
“Our official position is that it is not in the budget,” Abu-El-Hawa told the publication.
Abu-El-Hawa’s father and his uncle inherited the business when Abraham passed away in 1993.
“She was the American dream,” he said of his great aunt. “For a Muslim and Arab woman immigrant from Palestine to come here on her own and build this business, is a remarkable legacy.”
The Washingtonian would later update the story, likely after a backlash of criticism, with a written statement from Abu-El-Hawa.
“President-elect Trump has yet to take office and will occupy the oval office for the next four years when the funds are available and the budget allows for it Mr. Trump will join the rest of the presidents on our wall,” he wrote.
Abu-El-Hawa insisted there’s nothing partisan about the decision, which works out well for the business, given that Republicans will now run the town for the next 4-8 years.
“This decision is strictly a financial one and not in any way political, as both Republicans and Democrats alike are featured on our mural,” he said of not adding Trump now. “Additionally, it is important to note all the presidents featured were added at the same time.”
