Dallas Cowboys rookie running back sensation Ezekiel Elliott went all out and bought his offensive line, considered the best in the NFL, their own John Deere utility vehicles.
…but Philadelphia Eagles rookie quarterback Carson Wentz took the outdoors theme even further, one-upping his division rival in the process.
Wentz, the 2nd overall selection in the 2016 NFL draft, is an avid hunter and bought the jumbo-sized men tasked with protecting him customized Beretta shotguns.

Each gun retails at around $2,000 and will have offensive lineman’s number engraved, according to the Bleacher Report.
“This is an awesome gun. I’m excited about it,” guard Allen Barbre told ESPN. “I don’t know if I’ll shoot it, though. It’s pretty nice.”
“I like to go clay shooting and stuff,” fellow guard Brandon Brooks added. “All I’ve got is a home defense tactical shotgun, short-barrel, so I was looking for one of these.”
Wentz can well afford the shotguns, considering he signed a rookie contract fully guaranteed for four years and $26.7 million, including a $17.6 million signing bonus.
And while Elliot’s gifts were more expensive, the player selected two picks after Wentz should be able to swing the check, having signed a 4 year, $24.9 million contract, including a $16.3 million signing bonus.
Of course, in today’s polarizing times, courtesy of President Barack Obama, it didn’t take long for folks to politicize Wentz’s holiday gesture… and even managed to bring race into play!

But not everyone was dissaproving of the gifts. Take for instance the NRA who loved the idea!

And when local reporter Tim Panaccio announced his disaproval of the guns, someone gave him an eye-full not meant for children.
CB tells me Carson Wentz gave teammates shotguns for X-Mas. How Philadelphian of him. More guns in the City.
