Krauthammer agrees with Netanyahu: Anti-Israeli UN Resolution ‘was a US operation all the way’

Fox News’ contributor Charles Krauthammer is in agreement with Israel that the Obama administration was behind a United Nations resolution condemning the Middle East country for its settlement activity in the West Bank.

An international crisis was created when the United States, in an unprecedented move, abstained on the resolution. An angry Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu charged that not only did the U.S. push the resolution, but the White House helped create it.

Appearing on Fox News’ “Special Report,” Krauthammer said Monday “this was a U.S. operation all the way.”

And he explained just how much damage the Obama administration has done.

“This is very serious damage that cannot be undone,” Krauthammer explained, “because you can’t change a Security Council resolution without the acquiescence of the Russians and the Chinese… and you’re not gonna get it.”.

He also spoke about the relevance of “East Jerusalem” being mentioned in the resolution.

“It’s as if the U.N. passed a resolution declaring Mecca and Medina to be sovereign Jewish or Christian territory,” Krauthammer said. “It’s absurd. It’s an insult to the intelligence of the world and is supremely damaging to the Israeli claim to its own holy places.”
