How much is a home that a U.S. President once lived in worth?
Donald Trump’s childhood home, the place where he spent the first four years of his life, has been purchased by a “mystery buyer” for $1.25 million from sellers Isaac Kestenberg and his now-estranged wife, Claudia, who bought the house in 2008 for $782,500.
And now, the “mystery buyer” is about to flip the house yet again, this time for even more cash.
The couple had originally planned to auction off the home on October 19 with an opening bid of $849,000, but decided to hold off on a hunch that the billionaire businessman just might become President of the United States.

In which case the house would likely be worth a whole lot more.
Now that the Kestenbergs have made bank, the “mystery buyer,” a real estate investor, is set to make even more as he essentially flips 1940 Tudor-style house in Jamaica Estates in Queens when it goes up for auction again on January 17.
According to Paramount Realty owner Misha Haghani, the home has “intangible value that goes beyond just the real estate.”

Indeed! In fact, the New York Post says it could be worth upwards of $10 million if the right buyer wanted to turn the house into a museum.
Paramount Realty USA spokeswoman Stina Dakers told the Daily Mail, “Because the auction was getting so much press coverage a lot of bidders were contacting the firm to ask for more time to look at the property.”

Former owner Isaac Kestenberg told ABC 7 that tourists have been snapping photos of the residence for the past several months.
In fact, Kestenberg didn’t even know that the Trumps had lived in the house until after he purchased it.
“I found out when I bought the house from the neighbors here. There was this lady Mary, an old lady, and she told me that Donald Trump was living here and that she was his childhood friend,” Kestenberg told ABC7.
The Trump family eventually moved out and built a larger home in a lot just behind the house.
According to the Daily Mail: “The brick-and-stucco home has five bedrooms, 4½ baths, an enclosed rear porch and a detached, two-car garage. The 3,600-square-foot house also features a finished basement with a second kitchen.”
Modest by the President-elect’s standards today.
