Having lost his sports gig a second time, Keith Olbermann has plenty of time to focus on politics.
…and resisting Donald Trump.
In a web video produced by GQ Magazine, Olbermann declared “our long national nightmare is starting, with the Electoral College presumably failing to do its duty as conceived under the Constitution.”
That would be voting for Trump, who Olbermann fondly refers to as “Russia’s puppet.”
The failed sports anchor called for the resistance of Trump’s presidency, saying he’ll “likely be guilty of impeachable high crimes and misdemeanors within hours, if not minutes, of his own inauguration.”
Olbermann not only calls for an all-out assault on President-elect Trump, but also goes after Trump’s supporters.
“Resistance means find a Trump supporter everyday and remind them he lost the popular vote,” he said.
“Resistance means repetition. Humiliate him! Humiliate him every day, and those who support him.”
Olbermann then pulled out the big guns in his plan of resistance — refuse to call Trump president.
“There is also a passive-aggressive, subtler way to make this point clear,” he said. “It is like most of the points that finally defeated the Republicans of the Bush era. Those points succeeded not by suddenly knocking down walls, but instead by eroding them as would a river.”
“Not using one word can be just as forceful as perpetually using another,” Olbermann said to his hapless band of followers. “Never address Trump as President. He is Trump. Just Trump. Never president.”
“The title of President, that we must protect for a happier and more honest time,” he added. “Resistance means refusal. Resist! Peace.”
Peace? Hardly.
This is but one of Olbermann’s unhinged attacks since the election, including a disturbing rant last week that had folks calling for Secret Service.
