Romney, Harry Reid trade ugly blows after Mitt gets passed over for ‘State’ gig

Ever since Harry Reid took to the Senate floor to accuse Mitt Romney of failing to pay taxes during the 2012 election, then essentially bragged about it years later on CNN, bad blood has existed between the two.

So, was anyone surprised to see Reid offer his two cents on Romney’s jockeying for the position of Donald Trump’s secretary of state, only to lose out to Rex Tillerson in the end?

“This is a man who came out big-time against Trump. Oh, the things he said about Trump,” Reid told the Huffington Post. “Well, that’s great, that’s wonderful. Either he wasn’t telling the truth, or he’s a person with no character. After having said that, to go and do homage to this guy he said awful things about, I don’t think that shows much character … Mitt Romney is somebody I had respect for. I have none anymore.”

For his part, Romney wasn’t going to take this lying down. Huffington Post Senior Politics Editor Sam Stein reported the former Republican nominee’s response:
