Panicked Treasury could expedite Harriet Tubman bill before Trump nixes it. Republicans ask, why would he?

The Obama administration is debating on rushing the redesigned Harriet Tubman $20 bills before Donald Trump assumes the office so he won’t scrap the idea.

Government officials told Time Magazine that it could release images of the redesigns of the $5, $10 and $20 bills in an effort to pressure the Trump administration into keeping them.

“That work, which could include ideas for imagery, will be documented in a way that captures the full record of the excellent progress that has been made on this project and is consistent with our primary concern for the security of our currency,” a Treasury spokesperson told Time Magazine. ” The process of currency redesign is complex and was always expected to extend beyond the span of one.”

The bills are not set to enter circulation until the late 2020s and, as Time noted, there wasn’t much backlash from the public about the redesign but, once again, liberals are at the forefront of heading off a crisis that doesn’t exist.

Nice redesign.
