If anyone knows a thing or two about front groups, it would be the Hillary Clinton campaign.
The Republican Party of Wisconsin filed a complaint with the FEC on Wednesday claiming that Green Party candidate Jill Stein’s campaign is acting as a front for Hillary Clinton.

The complaint says the Clinton campaign is the only entity served by Stein’s ongoing recount effort, according to Law News.
“It is concerning that the Stein campaign would position itself to front and fund a recount attempt that only serves the interest of a desperate and defeated Clinton campaign,” the complaint said.
“Further, it is incredibly disturbing that given these asymmetrical interests, the Clinton campaign would readily begin organizing around the effort in order to capitalize on the chaos created by this attempt to undermine the integrity of Wisconsin’s elections process.”
Clinton campaign’s attorney, Mark Elias, said Saturday that while they’ve seen no “actionable evidence” election results were altered, the campaign would participate in Stein’s recount efforts in Wisconsin and would join recount efforts in Pennsylvania and Michigan, if they were to occur — Clinton lost those three states by just over 100,000 votes.

The complaint further alleges that given the little perceivable benefit to Stein (who is down by nearly 1.4 million votes) the synchronized efforts between the two campaigns “raises a severe specter of illegal coordination.”
The GOP argues Stein’s actions are essentially a coordinated $3.5 million expenditure on behalf of the Clinton campaign, in excess of the $2,000 amount allowed by federal campaign donations laws.
It goes without saying that the Stein campaign denies the allegations.

“The recount effort is non-partisan and Stein is not coordinating with any other campaign,” campaign manager David Cobb said in a statement to Law Newz.
“Any allegations to the contrary are fabrications. The FEC complaint is nothing but a PR stunt to push a false narrative that will ultimately have no impact on the recount in Wisconsin.”
