Glenn Beck piles on Steve Bannon, calls him a ‘nightmare’ and ‘terrifying man’

Op-ed views and opinions expressed are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent the views of BizPac Review.

At no point during the election did Glenn Beck ever support Donald Trump, so it’s no surprise that the conservative radio host and former Fox News anchor waited less than a week to sharply criticize one of Trump’s appointments, that of new chief adviser Steve Bannon.

On his Monday radio show, Beck said of Bannon, “He’s a nightmare and he’s the chief adviser to the president of the United States now.”

“He has built [Breitbart News] as a platform for the alt-right,” said Beck, referring to an interview with Mother Jones during the Republican National Convention in which the former Breitbart CEO said just that.

However, the last thing Bannon meant by those words was the racist, hateful intentions Beck and the other hysterical media outlets are trying to portray, as other quotes from Bannon’s Mother Jones interview attest:

“If you look at the identity movements over there in Europe, I think a lot of [them] are really ‘Polish identity’ or ‘German identity,’ not racial identity. It’s more identity toward a nation-state or their people as a nation.”

“Look, are there some people that are white nationalists that are attracted to some of the philosophies of the alt-right? Maybe. Are there some people that are anti-Semitic that are attracted? Maybe. Right? Maybe some people are attracted to the alt-right that are homophobes, right? But that’s just like, there are certain elements of the progressive left and the hard left that attract certain elements.”

Of leftist concerns about Bannon, American Greatness senior editor Chris Buskirk writes, “Their concern is overblown. Bannon is not the deplorable bogeyman described by Trump’s political opponents. He is instead a big picture thinker and an effective political operator focused on promoting and enacting the policies that Donald Trump ran on during the campaign: an immigration policy that prioritizes the interests of American citizens, a pro-worker, trade and economic policy and an interests-based foreign policy that is skeptical of foreign military entanglements.”

Oddly enough, everyone from quisling “conservatives” to liberals who love to play the “guilt by association” game while ignoring their own extremists, wants to pile on the alt-right, a movement built around fighting globalism and the power elites and making America work for the American people, because of their extremist elements. The reality is, the alt-right wouldn’t be drawing this much fire if it weren’t largely over the target and if it didn’t play an integral role in getting their chosen candidate, Donald Trump, elected.

Beck finished his rant by calling Bannon a “terrifying man” not once, but twice.

Instead of pandering and virtue-signaling to the Left (news flash, Beck, they don’t care), perhaps Beck should expend his energy actually fighting THEM for a change.
