A United captain on a flight from San Francisco to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, had to lay down the law after two passengers got into a political disagreement of sorts.
The “scuffle” was allegedly racially driven, according to a caption included with a YouTube video of the pilot’s remarks posted Friday to an account belonging to Jon Bauer, CBS San Francisco reported.
Either way, just days removed from one of the most contentious presidential elections in U.S. history, the captain was in no mood for politics “in a metal tube at 35,000 feet.”
“I understand everybody has their opinions; that’s fine,” he told his passengers.
“If you support him, great. If you don’t, I understand,” he continued, although it’s not clear if the captain was referring to Donald Trump.

“However, we’re out here to go to Puerto Vallarta, supposed to be having a good time, and what I do ask is that as people we have the common decency to respect each others’ decisions and to get along on this three hour and thirteen minute flight so that we can have a good time when we get down there.”
“If there’s anyone that has a problem with this, that needs to vent or rant or rave, there’s another flight tomorrow,” the pilot said.
“You’re not going to be on this one. I hope that’s clear,” he concluded.
Suffice it to say, there were no more problems.
