Hannity unleashes tweetstorm on Sen Ben Sasse. Then it got personal.

Fox News host Sean Hannity has been singing the praises of Julian Assange and Wikileaks on Twitter and elsewhere lately, but one particular Friday evening tweet drew the ire of Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse, who felt the need to take Hannity to task.

Little did Sasse know, however, the tweetstorm that was about to ensue.

Here’s where it all started:

Hannity then unleashed this series of tweets, none of which were responded to by Sasse as of this writing:






Then, it got personal. In response to Sasse’s tweet about going to a Casting Crowns Christian concert Saturday night, Hannity couldn’t resist yet another jab:


Some, including Matt Wilstein of The Daily Beast, wanted to criticize the Fox News host for his change of heart about Assange. After all, Hannity had once called for Assange’s arrest for “waging a war against the U.S.” when the Wikileaks founder released documents sensitive to national security in 2010.

But Hannity was ready for that one too!
