With many Americans recoiling at the thought of two men engaged in lewd “locker room banter” about women, with the media only too happy to note the impact this has had on young children, Cosmopolitan Magazine one-ups the whole episode in a promotional post without so much as a whimper from the press.
In promoting a piece, titled “Holy Sh*t, These Sexts From Disney Couples Will Make You Blush So Hard,” the women’s magazine tweeted a pornographic image of two beloved Disney cartoon characters caught up in the heat of the moment:

Turns out, the image is from a February 2015 Cosmo piece, “If Disney Couples Starred in “Fifty Shades of Grey,” which included this caption:
“He stops and reaches for a washcloth as I pant against him, wanting… needing. My hands rest on his firm, muscular thighs. Squirting more soap onto the washcloth, he leans down and washes between my legs. I hold my breath.” — bathtub sex, Fifty Shades of Grey, p. 135
The reaction on social media seemed to evolve around a single question: “Why?” … here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:
@Cosmopolitan y’all really out here sexualizing children’s movies???
