The U.K. has come up with a novel idea for preventing migrants from sneaking over its borders illegally.
It’s going to build a “great wall” to keep them from jumping on trucks and crossing its border with the French port city of Calais, news.au.com reported.
Where they could have gotten such an idea?
The 13 high, one mile wide wall will replace the fence that has been ineffective and preventing the illegal migration.
The UK is building a “big new wall”. Sound familiar? @ErinCNN reports https://t.co/dCrx8vLxn8

Some in the British media have given it the moniker of the “Great Wall of Calais.”
“We are going to start building this big new wall very soon. We’ve done the fence, now we are doing a wall,” UK junior Minister Robert Goodwill said to a parliamentary committee on Tuesday.
The structure will be funded by U.K. taxpayers and is set to be completed by the end of the year.
Labour committee member Chuka Umunna insinuated that the idea was inspired by Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s desire to build a wall along the U.S. border with Mexico.
And they might not be the only ones inspired by Trump.
Hungary has built a fence topped with razor wire on its border with Serbia and Austria and Norway is set to begin construction on wall along its arctic border. Austria and Germany also temporarily shut their borders last summer to slow the influx of Middle Eastern migrants streaming into Europe.
Sovereignty … it’s not just for right-wing Americans anymore.
