Donald Trump told a crowd attending a Pennsylvania rally earlier this week he’s concerned about voter fraud in the November election and his campaign is now recruiting “Trump Election Observers” to help “stop crooked Hillary from rigging this election.”
…and the opposition is losing its collective mind.
The GOP nominee said state party leaders in Pennsylvania “are very concerned” about potential election fraud and stressed that the only way he can lose there is if cheating occurs.
“We’re going to watch Pennsylvania. Go down to certain areas and watch and study and make sure other people don’t come in and vote five times,” Trump said. “If you do that, we’re not going to lose. The only way we can lose, in my opinion — I really mean this, Pennsylvania — is if cheating goes on.”
And to ensure that doesn’t happen, Trump said “we have to call up law enforcement, and we have to have the sheriffs and the police chiefs and everybody watching.”
The campaign also solicited “Trump Election Observers” on its website, according to NBC News.
All of which prompted plenty of outrage from liberals, led by MTV “Senior National Correspondent” Jamil Smith, who called the recruits a “goon squad” and claimed the action was unprecedented:

Trump's campaign site now has a form to register as a "Trump Election Observer." Campaigns simply don't do this. https://t.co/laTnzsocma

And while Democrats are crying foul, the stage was set for such “observers” in 2008 by President Barack Obama, as NBC News reported:
Trump is not the first to deploy election observers. In 2008, then-Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama enlisted “Election Observers” in Pennsylvania to ensure that voters cast their ballots “simply, fairy, and without intimidation.”
Obama and running mate Joe Biden provided a manual that listed do’s and do not’s for observers. That sort of guidance has not yet been given by the Trump campaign, which is early on in the recruitment process.
The irony being that the only intimidation happening in Pennsylvania was by members of the New Black Panther Party, of which, the Obama administration opted not to prosecute.
