E-mail exposes Wasserman Schultz demand MSNBC stop negative coverage, make Mika apologize: ‘This is the LAST straw!’

Talk about bad timing, just days before the 2016 Democratic National Convention, Wikileaks has released nearly 20,000 emails from the accounts of top-ranked party officials, to include party chairwoman Debbie Wassermann Schultz.

And there’s a doozy or two among them, such as Wasserman Schultz demanding NBC’s Chuck Todd put an end to negative coverage of her, Daily Caller reported.

The head of the Democratic National Committee furiously demanded that “Morning Joe” co-host Mika Brzezinski cease from her biting criticism of her– Brzezinski called on Wasserman Schultz to resign her position earlier this year over the treatment of Bernie Sanders.

In an email titled “Chuck, this must stop,” Wasserman Schultz asked Todd, who serves as NBC’s political director, about setting up a call so the two can talk.

Wasserman Schultz showed just how furious she was with Brzezinski’s call to resign in an email sent to DNC communications director Luis Miranda, who she instructed to call MSNBC chief Phil Griffin.

“This is the LAST straw. […] This is outrageous. She needs to apologize,” Wasserman Schultz wrote.

The Daily Caller described a later exchange between Miranda and Todd:

“Between us, You think the call is a good idea?” asked Todd, who seems to have suggested that he would attempt to talk Brzezinski down from her strong position regarding Wasserman Schultz.

“Not necessarily. If Mika just doesn’t like her, I’m not sure it’s worth either of their time. I’ve lowered her expectations, but don’t know. If you think Mika is set in stone I’m happy to kill it,” wrote Miranda.

“I don’t know. She can do 180s after these calls. It can’t get worse,” Todd replied.

In an email sent the next day, Miranda told Wasserman Schultz that “Mika is willing to do a call with you, so we need to know if you want to make that happen too.”

“We figure it can’t get worse, so worth having a call,” he added.

“At this point, why would I do that?” Wasserman Schultz replied.

“She’s already served as a judge and jury without even bothering to talk to me. Not sure why I should trust having a conversation with her would make any difference. Or that she even matters, to be frank,” she wrote to Miranda later.

Of course, Todd shrugged the remarkable revelation off as just another complaint about coverage.

“I think it’s clear what it was. Someone complaining about coverage,” he told Mediaite. “Something that happens daily from every campaign we interact with.”

Nothing to see here folks, move right along.
