Despite not being picked to be his running mate, Newt Gingrich is ready to work with Donald Trump.
The former House speaker said he was happy with Trump’s pick of Indiana Gov. Mike Pence because “for what Trump needed to do right now, which I think is reassure the traditional party, I think that Mike is frankly, stronger.”
And Gingrich is ready to get involved to help the country.
“We are in terrible trouble,” Gingrich said as he described President Obama’s failures at home and abroad. “I’ve told Donald that I’m very prepared to work with him and to develop things that I think would help us very dramatically accelerate going in the right direction.
“And I think he and I have a pretty good understanding that I’d have a substantial role in trying to rethink this stuff because I’ve spent my entire adult life on these things.”
