Promising he won’t be long because “today is gonna be a very busy day,” a somber Dallas cop turned to social media to share his thoughts the day after a black gunman sympathetic to the Black Lives Matter movement killed five of his comrades — seven other officers were wounded.
Officer Bryan Woodard posted a video on his Facebook page Friday that has been seen by almost 7 million people.
“I was not expecting to have my badge covered this morning,” he says. “But it’s covered because we lost five. And it hurts.”
Being on the front lines and dealing with the consequences of America’s cultural rot on a daily basis, the emotional officer asks those watching to keep law enforcement officers in their prayers.
“It’s not easy as you may think it is out here,” he said. “It’s very sad, very very sad.”
Woodard explains that he’s going to gas up and “go get my hug” and sure enough, as soon as he enters the business an older woman gives him a hug and a kiss on his cheek.
Showing wisdom beyond the understanding of America’s secular progressive left, Woodard points to God while talking to another clerk.
“We have strayed so far from God that He is desperately trying to get our attention,” he said.
Amen.
