Sunday Night’s BET Awards show was rife with left-wing propaganda and talk of black victimization. Pop superstar Justin Timberlake got caught in the crossfire.
Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams gave a speech in which he spoke on “whiteness” and “victims” of police brutality, including Sandra Bland who committed suicide in jail cell but somehow millions still blame the cops for it.
Williams blasted “this invention called whiteness uses and abuses us, burying black people out of sight and out of mind while extracting our culture, our dollars, our entertainment like oil—black gold, ghettoizing and demeaning our creations then stealing them, gentrifying our genius and then trying us on like costumes before discarding our bodies like rinds of strange fruit.”
Timberlake took to Twitter to say he was inspired by Williams anti-white speech, and the people he tried to ingratiate himself with quickly turned on him and accused him of “appropriating” their culture.

@jtimberlake @iJesseWilliams Did you like the part when Jesse talked about white people stealing from us? That should resonate with you.

You RAN like a scared puppy, @jtimberlake, when the world turned on @JanetJackson. YOU FAILED TO PROTECT HER. You saved yourself. Silence!
— LCH (@ProfessLCH) June 27, 2016
@jtimberlake @iJesseWilliams You are one of the people that “sit down” was for. Please.

@jtimberlake @iJesseWilliams As much as I love you… Jesse was talking about you.
— Kristie (@kristiebass) June 27, 2016
@jtimberlake @iJesseWilliams Its you!!!! you’ve been using black people for years and when we get murdered YOU ARE SILENT. GO TO BED, SIS.

@jtimberlake @iJesseWilliams He was describing you to a “T”. Gentrifying our genius indeed…

Then Timberlake responded to a post by a detractor by saying we are all “the same.”
That really set off the anger of “black Twitter.”
So does this mean you’re going to stop appropriating our music and culture? And apologize to Janet too. #BETAwards https://t.co/0FwBOQR24D

Oh, you sweet soul. The more you realize that we are the same, the more we can have a conversation.

Tell that to Janet. @jtimberlake

@jtimberlake Your whole career has been biting off of black music. You wouldn’t even be as popular as you are if you were black..
— shelly from da block (@OhItsShell_) June 27, 2016
.@jtimberlake @MrErnestOwens You have appropriated black culture, specifically black female culture.
— Camryn Garrett (@dancingofpens) June 27, 2016
Rather than learn his lesson, Timberlake quickly apologized and groveled at the feet of his detractors.
I feel misunderstood. I responded to a specific tweet that wasn’t meant to be a general response. I shouldn’t have responded anyway…
— Justin Timberlake (@jtimberlake) June 27, 2016
I forget this forum sometimes… I was truly inspired by @iJesseWilliams speech because I really do feel that we are all one… A human race
— Justin Timberlake (@jtimberlake) June 27, 2016
I apologize to anyone that felt I was out of turn. I have nothing but LOVE FOR YOU AND ALL OF US.
