An outpouring of grief and condolences have come from Hollywood after “Star Trek” star Anton Yelchin was killed in a freak accident.

The body of the 27-year-old, Russian born actor was found around 1 a.m. on Sunday, pinned between the gate of his Studio City, Calif., home and his two ton Jeep Cherokee, the Daily Mail reported.

Now many are wondering if his Jeep was among those recalled voluntarily by the company because the gear shift deign was so confusing many drivers couldn’t tell if the vehicle was in park or neutral.

The design was blamed for hundreds of accidents, according to the Mail.

After news broke of his death celebrities, including “Star Trek” director JJ Abrams, posted tributes to Yelchin on social media.
