Given all the controversy over her claims to be Native American, there are certain terms Sen. Elizabeth Warren would be wise to avoid.
Warren endorsed presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton Thursday night on MSNBC’s “The Rachel Maddow Show,” saying she is “ready to get in this fight… to make sure that Donald Trump never gets anyplace close to the White House.”
Host Rachel Maddow asked Warren if she was capable of stepping into the role of commander in chief if ever called to do it.
“Yes, I do,” Warren said with certainty.
Clinton toyed with the idea of an all-woman presidential ticket in an interview with Politico, saying she had “the highest regard” for the Massachusetts senator and that Warren was indeed “qualified” to be vice president. Having Warren as a running mate is sure to help bring disgruntled Bernie Sanders supporters back into the fold.
Never mind that even some of Clinton’s allies say Warren is in no way qualified.
Ed Rendell, the former Democratic governor of Pennsylvania and a longtime Clinton ally, was clear in an interview this week that Warren was not up to the task, Politico reported.
“I think [Clinton] will not pick somebody that she feels in her heart isn’t ready to be president or commander in chief,” Rendell said. “I think Elizabeth Warren is a wonderful, bright, passionate person, but with no experience in foreign affairs and not in any way, shape or form ready to be commander in chief.”
Ben Shapiro, editor of Daily Wire, took to social media late Thursday to have a little fun with the idea of Warren criticizing Trump and declaring that she’s ready to be commander in “chief.”
