A CNN panel to discuss racial remarks made by Donald Trump turned into a verbal brawl.
Pastor Darrell Scott, a Trump supporter, argued that when Trump singled out a black supporter as “my African-American” it was a term of endearment said because people don’t know what term to use for black people anymore in the age of political correctness.
The fact that the man who Trump singled out, himself took no offense to the statement meant little to CNN political commentator Tara Setmayer, who said black people who support Trump are suffering from “political Stockholm Syndrome.”
“He felt the need to have to point him out because he was black and in the crowd and say “oh look there’s ‘my African-American,'” she said. “Does he own you?”
“That’s no different than Hillary Clinton saying she carries hot sauce in her purse,” Scott argued. “I saw Hillary Clinton at a town hall meeting with some black journalists and she did ‘the whip’ and ‘the nae nae.'”
Scott also mocked Setmayer for acting like she didn’t realize being a black Trump supporter makes someone unique.
“You’re trying to act like you’re not aware of the racial climate in America! The only reason I stand out as a Trump supporter is because I’m black!” he said. ”
“You find me an aberration because I’m black and I support Trump!” Scott argued.
