“Lord of the Rings” star Elijah Wood raised eyebrows in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter when he dished on Hollywood’s “underbelly” — pedophilia in the entertainment business.

“There is darkness in the underbelly,” Wood said. “If you can imagine it, it’s probably happened.”

The actor would later clarify that when he said “something major was going on in Hollywood,” he wasn’t talking about his own experiences and observations.

But actor Corey Feldman was not so lucky, THR reported. On several occasions over the years, the actor has talked about how he was preyed upon by men in the movie industry.

Star of several hit movies in the 1980’s — “The Goonies,” “Stand By Me” and “The Lost Boys” — Feldman spoke exclusively to THR and said frequent co-star and good friend Corey Haim experienced even more of a nightmare.

He said Haim was raped on a movie set when he was just 11-years-old — the Canadian actor died in 2010 at age 38 as a result of years of drug abuse.

“He had more direct abuse than I did,” Feldman said. “With me, there were some molestations and it did come from several hands, so to speak, but with Corey, his was direct rape, whereas mine was not actual rape.”

“My son is 11 now and I can’t even begin to fathom the idea of something like that happening to him.,” he continued. “It would destroy his whole being. As I look at my son, a sweet, innocent, 11-year-old boy and then try to put him in Corey Haim’s shoes, I go, ‘Oh my God — well of course he was erratic and not well-behaved on sets and things like that.’ What more could we expect of him really?”

Feldman described himself as a “very balanced, very happy man,” but acknowledged that he “go through a lot of therapy and group therapy and rehabilitation and all sorts of things to be put on this ground that I’m on now.”

The actor said he and Haim discussed their experiences.

“I know every single person that interfered with his life and he knew every person that interfered with mine,” Feldman said.

One such person is “still prominently in the business today,” Feldman said and while he’d love to name names, because of California’s statute of limitations he’d find himself engulfed in legal problems.

“We should be talking to the district attorneys and the lawmakers in California,” he stated. “Especially because this is where the entertainment industry is and this is a place where adults have more direct and inappropriate connection with children than probably anywhere else in the world.”

Contact that Feldman said frequently took place at pre-teen Hollywood parties where predators stalked and groomed their marks.

Sadly, he said adult males in the entertainment industry preying on young boys persists “more now than ever” because social media makes it easier for them to reach out to them.
