When it comes to the gay mafia the San Diego Padres found out there’s no such thing as a mistake.
The San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus shuffled onto the field at Petco Park Saturday night to perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” but were interrupted by a PA recording of a woman singing it instead.
Stadium officials called it a mistake, but the choir didn’t see it that way.
In a statement on Facebook it called the situation a “nightmare” and made accusations of “homophobia.”
The Chorus demanded disciplinary action be taken against those responsible.
The San Diego Padres promptly obliged.
The team issued a statement on Sunday night in which it took “full responsibility” for the incident.

It announced that it ended its contract with the third party company responsible for the mishap and took “disciplinary action” against the employee in charge of game production.
“We once again sincerely apologize to members of the San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus, their families and those who came out to support their Pride Night performance. The Padres organization is proud of our longstanding commitment to inclusion–within both our sport and our community. We deeply regret that a mistake on our part has called this into question, but accept full responsibility,” it wrote.
Major League Baseball Vice President of Social Inclusion and Responsibility, Billy Beane, issued a statement of his own noting that “error and intent are not related.”
