Former Ronald Reagan adviser Pat Buchanan is really getting under liberals’ skin.

In an interview with NPR, Buchanan laid out how presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump has risen to the top on the same ideas that he has been talking about for decades in regards to immigration, foreign policy, and trade.

“We’re not going to go abroad and try to overthrow dictators that we don’t like if they don’t threaten our interest,” Buchanan said about a Trump presidency. “And we’re not going to use American military power to try to create Vermont in the heart of the Middle East.”

Echoing the same narrative from Trump, Buchanan said old, foreign alliances were not only stale, but not in the best interest of the country.

“Why in 25 years after the Cold War, why is the United States of America still responsible for the defense of Europe, which is four times its populous, and probably ten times as rich as Russia,” Buchanan asked. “Why are we in Russia’s face when we don’t live there? Let these countries do it themselves or let it be left undone.”

Then the conversation turned to free trade and how Trump has made it a core issue in this election cycle by lambasting free trade agreements like NAFTA and TPP as “bad deals” for American workers.

When asked about economist studies showing free trade is good for economic growth, Buchanan quickly chimed in, saying “Well let me talk about these economists.”

“For the last 25 years, we have run 12 trillion dollars in trade deficits worldwide and 4 trillion dollars in a trade deficit with China,” Buchanan said. “Who are these economic blockheads who say that’s good for the United States.”

“[Trade] has changed for the worst, that’s why Donald Trump’s on his way to the nomination.”

Buchanan also pointed out how Trump’s rise is largely because of his staunch stance on immigration, specifically open border policies where illegal immigrants run rapid and are given federal benefits.

“We’re about 25 years away from the fact that Americans of European descent will be a minority in the United States,” Buchanan said.

When asked why that’s a problem, Buchanan explained “Well, because I look at Europe and I see peoples everywhere at each others throats over issues of ethnicity and identity.”

“Again, the United States, we had an enormous success,” said Buchanan. “We had high immigration from 1890 to 1920. Then we had a time-out where all those folks from Eastern and Southern Europe were assimilated and Americanized, they learned English.”

“Now in the homes of California, people speak a language other than English in their own homes,” Buchanan said. “Anybody that believes that a country can be maintained that has no ethnic core to it, no lingiustic core to it, I believe is naive and extreme.”

Liberals quickly latched onto the interview, and started their usual disgusting attacks against anyone they disagree with: name-calling and wondering when that person will die.
