Supermodel and actress Rebecca Romijn slammed Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid as fakes.
“I know a lot of people — legitimate fashion people — can’t stand it. Hate it that these, you know, social media stars are now the supermodels in fashion,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “They are not true supermodels.”
Romijin said Vogue magazine ought to set the standard for fashion and not cave to social media stars like Jenner and Hadid.
“No one has proven yet that numbers of followers translates to revenue,” she added. “So it is frustrating.”

Jenner and Hadid have been on 15 Vogue covers, according to the New York Daily News.
The comments came weeks after Calvin Klein made similar statements about Jenner, according to the News.
“Now, models are paid for how many followers they have. They’re booked not because they represent the essence of the designer, which is what I tried to do — they’re booked because of how many followers they have online,” Klein said.
