What would you do if you had the chance to spend some quality alone time with the alleged molester of your seven-month-old baby? Parminder Singh, 25, an Indian man from the village of Kotli Ablu, answered this sad question in the most brutal way imaginable.

Singh’s wife allegedly caught the 17-year-old in the act of molesting their baby in 2014. The youth was sent to a juvenile home to await trial. Singh, pretending forgiveness, offered an out-of-court settlement and even a ride home to the boy.

But, in a turn of events that should have shocked no one except, apparently, Indian authorities and the teen himself, they didn’t go home. Instead, Mr. Singh took the alleged perp to a dried up canal, beat him up, tied him to a tree, and hacked off both his hands.

He’s currently on the lam, and Indian authorities say he will be charged with attempted murder if he’s caught.

This begs several questions, of course. This is India and things are certainly different, but what kind of system would allow the victim’s father give the alleged perpetrator a ride home? And even more crazy, what was that 17-year-old thinking to get on the same motorbike with the man whose daughter he had been accused of molesting?

Evidently the only person thinking in this situation was Parminder Singh, and his thoughts were far from forgiving.

To make matters worse, according to the UK Daily Mail, an extremely slow and corrupt Indian criminal justice system drives many to see vigilantism as the only means of justice. It’s impossible to know what anyone would do in a similar situation, but one thing is for sure – it should never have been allowed to happen.
