Democrats have repeatedly assured the American people that this wouldn’t happen, but now there is evidence that it has.

A Minnesota man accused of trying to join the Islamic State wanted to get ISIS soldiers into the U.S. from Syria via the porous southern border with Mexico, Fox News reported.

In a document filed this week, prosecutors alleged that Guled Ali Omar, 21, told ISIS members about a route it could use to smuggle fighters into America.

The document was filed as a response to a request from defense attorneys in the criminal case who asked that prosecutors not be allowed to introduce evidence pertaining to possible attacks on U.S. soil.

Bruce Nestor, an attorney for one of Omar’s codefendants, Abdirahman Yasin Daud, 22, wrote last week that references to discussions the ISIS wannabes had about attacks, and references to the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, would be prejudicial and “would cause the jurors to decide out of fear and contempt alone,” Fox News reported.

But prosecutors contended they ought to be allowed to “play for the jury the defendants’ own words, in which they discuss the possibility of returning to attack the United States,” according to Fox News.

Among the recordings of the men discussing potential terror attacks was Omar talking about creating a route for ISIS fighters to sneak into the U.S. through its border with Mexico.
