The Republican National Committee isn’t letting up on Donald Trump.

At a swanky, Florida yacht club gathering this morning, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus said it doesn’t matter how many delegates Trump receives over the course of the next few months, if he doesn’t obtain all 1,237, they will not be simply handing the nomination to him.

“We aren’t going to hand the nomination to anyone with a plurality, no matter how close they are to 1,237,” Priebus said to a room full of GOP insiders. “You need a majority. Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.”

Priebus likely irked the “Never Trump” crowd when he also called for unity, urging party leaders to back the eventual GOP nominee.

The remarks come as Trump has railed against what he calls a “rigged” delegate system, where he wins the popular vote, but loses a majority of delegates to Sen. Ted Cruz R-Tx.

“Politics is a team sport and we can’t win unless we rally around whoever becomes our nominee,” Priebus said. “It is essential to victory in November that we all support our candidate.”

Priebus isn’t exactly in-line with the majority of GOP voters on the issue.

According to a recent “NBC”/”Wall St. Journal” poll, a whopping 62 percent of GOP voters said the nominee should be the candidate with the most votes. Only 33 percent said GOP delegates should pick the nominee for voters.
