You’d be hard pressed to find a more charming TV personality than Fox News’ Jesse Watters … charm that allows him to get away with questions few others could pull off.
In the latest segment of “Watters’ World,” the producer and his winning smile visited the New York City GOP gala held Thursday in Midtown Manhattan and chatted up folks attending the black tie event about the 2016 presidential election.
Front-runner Donald Trump spoke at the gala, as did rivals Ted Cruz and John Kasich.
Watters stroked a woman’s fur without getting slapped across the face and had his ego stroked when another attendee told him her favorite part of “The O’Reilly Factor” was his “smiling face.”
He also ventured outside the Grand Hyatt where a throng of anti-Trump protesters had gathered and tried to employ his disarming charm as a peacemaker when a man wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat got manhandled.
“I was just trying make sure my tuxedo didn’t get roughed up,” Watters joked while being razzed about the incident by host Bill O’Reilly.
O’Reilly pondered why the pro-Trump guy was even there.
“My theory is he’s either a plant and this is a setup or he has a death wish and is insane,” Watters replied.
