A woman lost her mind over a 12-hour flight delay that she said ruined her family’s vacation.
It happened at LaGuardia Airport in New York when the woman asked when her flight to Miami would take off.
“You lied to me! You lied to me!” the woman screamed as she demanded American Airlines pay for the Disney cruise she and her family were going to miss because the flight was delayed 12 hours due to bad weather.
The woman’s daughter can be seen crying on film, as she lamented that she had waited all year for the trip on the Disney cruise.
“I could have driven there in the four hours I have been waiting here,” she exclaimed.
Eventually, police had to be called to quell the disturbance.
A spokesman for the airline said in an email to the Daily Mail that the flight was delayed because of bad weather.
“We do apologize that passengers on American Airlines flight 2240 were delayed due to inclement weather at New York’s LaGuardia Airport,” he wrote.
“The inbound aircraft, which was coming from Miami, diverted to Philadelphia due to high winds at LaGuardia.”
“The Federal Aviation Administration had air traffic control ground stops/ground delay programs in effect due to weather, which resulted in the diversion of the aircraft.”
The person who recorded the tirade, Jade Weng, said passengers were given only a $12 food voucher and after filing a complaint with American Airlines, she was informed that they would not be compensated any further.
