Despite what many say was a blatant violation of Twitter’s rules, rapper Azealia Banks will not be suspended from the social media platform.

“We reviewed the content and determined that it was not in violation of the Twitter Rules,” the company wrote, to a user who filed a formal complaint against Banks, Breitbart reported.

The Banks/Sarah Palin feud has been at the top of media headlines for the past week as Banks called for Palin to be gang raped by black men, then apologized, then took back the apology and went after Palin and white people in general saying “f**k whitey.”

“In order to ensure that people feel safe expressing diverse opinions and beliefs, we do not tolerate behavior that crosses the line into abuse, including behavior that harasses, intimidates, or uses fear to silence another user’s voice,” the rules state.

“Violent threats (direct or indirect): You may not make threats of violence or promote violence, including threatening or promoting terrorism,” it continues.

And yet none of Banks’ violent tweets warranted a suspension of her account despite Twitter’s very clear rules on the matter.

Tweets that included her call for Palin to have her head shaved, engage in violent sexual activity and then be locked in a cupboard.

And a call to find volunteers who would “run a train” on the former Alaska governor.

Unlike conservative anti-feminist blogger Robert Stacy McCain, who had his account suspended because Twitter said he violated the “rules around participating in targeted abuse,” but never told him exactly what he did, according to Real Clear Politics.

It’s probably worth noting that one of McCain’s most bitter rivals, feminist Anita Sarkeesian is on Twitter’s Trust and Safety Council.

Twitter has cited privacy as its reason for not answering the many journalists who have asked what McCain’s violation was the entire world knows what Bank’s violations are and yet she remains active.

More recently Twitter removed the verification badge of conservative firebrand Milo Yiannopoulos and also refused to tell him why other than to state he violated Twitter rules, Breitbart reported.

Bank’s verification badge, unsurprisingly, remains intact.
