Former CNN host Piers Morgan slammed Michelle Fields battery charge against Donald Trump‘s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski.

When video of the alleged battery became public Morgan, the editor-at-large of DailyMail.com, dismissed it as “utterly pathetic.” He reinforced that position Tuesday on Fox News’ “On The Record.”

“I thought it was one of the most pathetic things I have ever seen,” he told host Greta Van Susteren.

“You watch that video, and anyone with a brain thinks that that is some kind of assault or battery, they’re living in cloud cuckoo land,” he said. “This was the run-of-the-mill scrum, which follows any presidential candidate.”

Morgan said if that was his journalist he would’ve sent her a bonus for getting by the Secret Service and asking a question but he would have been angered if she found out she filed battery charges on something “utterly tame and utterly pointless.”
