Liberal Hollywood star Susan Sarandon cleared the smoke amidst suspicions that she would cast her vote for GOP front-runner Donald Trump if Sen. Bernie Sanders were unable to secure the Democratic nomination.
The rumor started after an interview with Chris Hayes on MSNBC Monday where she said she didn’t know what she would do if her buddy Sanders did not become the Democratic nominee: “I’m going to see what happens,” she told Hayes.
Leaving plenty of room for speculation, many Hollywood libs were inconceivably flabbergasted at the mere thought of one of their own hopping on the Trump train. So much so, Sarandon had to dispel the horrors of celebrity pals Debra Messing and Jamie Lee Curtis by reassuring them of her allegiance.
I respect but disagree with @SusanSarandon. A possible support of Trump over @HillaryClinton is dangerous 2 women, minorities & immigrants.

Of course I would never support Trump for any reason. If you watch the interview you’ll see that’s not what I said. https://t.co/wQk0cMmeyp

2- the idea that Susan Sarandon wud say that NOT supporting Hillary in a HRC/Trump race is a legitimate choice for Democrats, is insane.

Needless to say, Sarandon’s tweets brought equilibrium back into Hollywood’s leftist universe.
See exactly what Sarandon had to say about the presidential candidates Monday night with Hayes below via MSNBC.
Sarah Fisher of Truth Revolt wrote on the highlights of the interview:
In an interview with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes, Bernie Sanders supporter and Hollywood insider Susan Sarandon said she wasn’t sure she could vote for Hillary Clinton should Hillary win the Democrat nomination for President.
“I think, in certain quarters, there’s growing concern that the folks that are into Bernie Sanders have come to despise Hillary Clinton or reject Hillary Clinton and that should she be the nominee, which is as yet undetermined, they will walk away,” Hayes said.
“That’s a legitimate concern,” Sarandon responded. “Because they’re very passionate and principled.”
“But isn’t that crazy?” the host asked. “If you believe in what he believes in?”
“Yeah but she doesn’t,” Sarandon shot back. “She accepted money for all of those people. She doesn’t even want to fight for a $15 minimum wage. So these are people that have not come out before. So why would we think they’re going to come out now for her, you know?”
Hayes asked if the election came down to Hillary or Trump, would she support Hillary?
“I think Bernie would probably encourage people, because he doesn’t have any ego in this thing,” Sarandon replied. “But I think a lot of people are, ‘Sorry, I just can’t bring myself to [vote for Clinton].’”
“How about you personally?” Hayes asked.
“I don’t know. I’m going to see what happens,” Sarandon said.
“Really?” Hayes asked.
“Really,” Sarandon said, adding that “some people feel that Donald Trump will bring the revolution immediately if he gets in, things will really explode.” Asked if that’s “dangerous,” she replied, “It’s dangerous to think that we can continue the way we are with the militarized police force, with privatized prisons, with the death penalty, with the low minimum wage, threats to women’s rights and think you can’t do something huge to turn that around.”
