Many Americans have admitted to voting for Barack Obama as the country’s first black president, almost 8 years ago, in hopes that race relations would improve. That plan backfired for reasons too vast to list in one post.
But, a beautiful image lit up the Internet in the days just before Easter.
A photo of two Mississippi preschool girls, one black and one white, holding hands as they napped next to each other was snapped by their teacher as she went around the class to wake the children.
Olivia Ellis, who teaches the pair of six-year-old BFFs, Lucy Harris Jackson and Samiyah Moore, at Presbyterian Day School in Clarksdale said the moment was so precious she grabbed her camera to capture it.

“I was walking around the classroom waking each child up after nap time,” she told “The Today Show.” “I flipped on the light and found them with their hands clenched, sound asleep — holding each other. It was really sweet. I knew I had to stop and get my camera.”
The photo was posted to the school’s Facebook page with the caption “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7.”
The image has been shared and commented on all over social media ever since.

@TODAYshow Thx for sharing. If race doesn’t matter to these precious babes, why should it matter to anyone? More proof #racism is taught.
