Video surfaces of Obama’s SCOTUS pick mocking Donald Trump

A newly surfaced video shows President Obama‘s supposedly moderate Supreme Court nominee mocking Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump.

The incident took place as Judge Merrick Garland participated in Yale Law School’s Morris Tyler Moot Court of Appeals in the Fall of 2012.

“Does your theory depend on the fact that this proposition you think is reasonable?” Garland asked one of the competing students in the video uncovered by The Weekly Standard. “What if Donald Trump became the secretary of state of Arizona and insisted there’s only one way you can prove citizenship, and that’s with your long-form birth certificate?”

The remark drew laughter from the student, and those in attendance.

“You would still say that that rules, right?” he pressed.

Garland was nominated to the Supreme Court by Obama last week despite Republicans in the Senate insisting that none of the president’s nominees would get a hearing.
