Planned Parenthood president shows up at WH after SCOTUS announcement – why eyebrows are raised

The Obama administration received a visit from a long-time ally immediately following the announcement of the president’s U.S. Supreme Court nominee, Merrick Garland.

Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards, the country’s most notorious abortion advocate, was seen visiting the White House just after news broke that President Obama would nominate Garland for Supreme Court justice.

The impression of Richards meeting with Obama on the day of the Supreme Court announcement could potentially be related to an abortion case sitting in front of the high court at the moment.

In that abortion case, pro-choice advocates are claiming that a 2013 Texas law purposefully imposes an “undue burden” on women, according to US News.

The law now requires abortion clinics to follow admitting privileges and meet higher standards of ambulatory surgical centers. Pro-life activists say the new regulations for abortion clinics are designed to make the procedure safer for women.
