Tempers flared and things got heated on CNN Friday morning.
Daily Caller senior editor Jamie Weinstein, the boyfriend of Michelle Fields – a Breitbart reporter who said she was roughly pulled by Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski at a campaign rally, battled Trump campaign spokeswoman Kartrina Pierson.
“To believe what they are saying in denying these allegations is you have to believe in an elaborate conspiracy theory,” Weinstein said. “You have to believe that there was some type of coordination between the Washington Post and Breitbart, which is a generally pro-Trump publication, and this conspiracy to impugn Donald Trump and his campaign. Then you have to think they came up with audio to support this.”
She added that Fields has a history of making “similar statements.”
“That is disgusting. That is disgusting,” Weinstein yelled. “You should be ashamed. You should be ashamed.”
“You know her, Katrina. You know my girlfriend, and you know what you’re saying is a lie.”
Pierson insisted that while Fields might have been grabbed but Lewandowski wasn’t responsible.
The conversation was part of a bigger panel conversation about violence at Trump rallies.
Ironically, hours later there would be more violence at a Trump rally when protesters created an unsafe environment in Chicago that forced the Trump campaign to cancel its event.
