Hillary Clinton found out the hard way when running for president in today’s polarizing times, it just won’t do for a Democrat to praise a Republican.
On the day former first lady Nancy Reagan was laid to rest, Clinton spoke favorably of the role the Reagans played in drawing attention to AIDS. Clinton attended the funeral services along with first lady Michelle Obama, former President George W. Bush and his wife, Laura, and former first lady Rosalyn Carter.
“It may be hard for your viewers to remember how difficult it was for people to talk about HIV/AIDS back in the 1980s,” Clinton said in an appearance on MSNBC. “And because of both President and Mrs. Reagan — in particular Mrs. Reagan — we started a national conversation.”

Well, the comment didn’t sit well with the militant, hard left faction that now controls the Democratic Party. After taking heat for the remark and not willing to run the risk of alienating this critical voting bloc, Clinton issued an apology.
A sample of the blow back is seen here:
Did you know @HillaryClinton that #Reagans‘ silence on #HIV inspired #AIDS activists’ slogan “Silence = Death?” pic.twitter.com/FeEF0Oy591

So… on the day of Mrs. Reagan’s funeral, the Democratic presidential candidate apologized for praising her.
Ain’t politics grand.
Clinton said in a statement posted on social media: “While the Reagans were strong advocates for stem cell research and finding a cure for Alzheimer’s disease, I misspoke about their record on HIV and AIDS. For that, I’m sorry.”
