Conservative firebrand Stacey Dash just brutally took Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio to school on climate change.
The private-jet-flying DiCaprio used his Academy Award victory speech to address what he called the “urgent need” to confront climate change in February.
“Climate change is real, it is happening right now,” he said.
“It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species, and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating.”
Most urgent?
Dash thinks the actor sounded more like Chicken Little screaming about the sky falling.
“Before making a speech the world would hear, he should have double checked his facts,” Dash wrote on Patheos before listing evidence of climate change dating back to the time of Christopher Columbus.
“There were no fossil fuels, no emissions, no cars — yet climate change occurred. Not to mention the Ice Age. No matter when you believe that event to have happened, it’s obvious people and technology had no part in its occurrence,” she wrote.
Dash also took DiCaprio to task for his statement that he and the makers of his film “The Revenant” couldn’t find snow.
“There are people 10 miles from Leo starving, stuck on entitlement,” she said. “Twenty first century NAZIS to deal with and North Koreans playing with nukes. He needs to get his priorities straight. I would leave him alone, except that his rhetoric isn’t cheap.”
