Guy saving kid’s face from being destroyed by baseball bat is blowing up the Internet

If not for the quick thinking of a fan, a young boy would have learned a brutal lesson about paying attention.

The moment was captured by Pittsburgh Tribune-Review photographer Christopher Horner during a spring training game between the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Atlanta Braves in Bradenton, Florida.

The youngster was looking at his phone when a baseball bat got launched into the stands and came dangerously close to his face.

The quick thinking of the man next to him, deflecting the bat with his arm, was the only thing that saved the child from disaster.

It’s a testament to the world in 2016 when you have fantastic seats to a Major League baseball game on a beautiful day and you are too enamored with your phone to pay attention.

Fortunately for him, someone else was.

The photo got plenty of response on social media.
