Rules? What rules?
In spite of a Massachusetts law that declares “no person shall solicit votes for or against, or otherwise promote or oppose, any person or political party or position on a ballot question, to be voted on at the current election,” former President Bill Clinton appears to have done just that, according to Boston.com.
He “chatted up voters, kissed an old lady on the head, posed for photos, and bought a cup of coffee,” according to the report.
In fact Clinton visited as many as four polling locations before his wife’s campaign was finally told t respect the law, MassLive reported.
But a spokesman for the Massachusetts Secretary of State William Galvin told NewsCenter 5 that the former president’s visits were legal.
“No one was prevented from voting,” Brian McNiff said. “The city and voters were notified well in advance of the event.”
Um, ok, but that’s not what the law says.
Then again when has the law ever stopped a Clinton?
