Trump campaign spokeswoman Katrina Pierson got into a vicious battle with a Republican strategist on the eve of Super Tuesday, and sparks were flying.
Pierson sat down with CNN’s Carol Costello on Monday to defend Donald Trump‘s appearance the day before on CNN with Jake Tapper where he said he didn’t know who former KKK leader David Duke was.
Republican strategist Tara Setmayer argued that Trump did know who Duke was because before he disavowed the former KKK leader, he said he “obviously thinks the American people are stupid” if they believed that he didn’t know who the man was.
“The Democrats have called the Tea Party racists!” Pierson replied. “Should we have him disavow the Tea Party too? Absolutely not!”
But Setmayer didn’t believe her excuses.
“We aren’t even talking about Donald Trump’s questionable history with race back to when the DOJ sued the Trump organization for racial discrimination. Or when Donald Trump came out and said how much he loves, quote, ‘the blacks,’ or we can go down the list of very questionable things Donald Trump has said,” she shot back.
“But I don’t know,” she said as she snapped her fingers. “Maybe Katrina Pierson is one of the blacks he likes since he pays her to clean up his mess everyday on television.”
“Snopes is a really good website to check out some of those statements considering how now we’re just gonna throw anything out there aren’t we?” Pierson fired back before accusing Setmayer of race baiting.
