Monica Lewinsky shows up at famous Vanity Fair Oscar party among Hollywood Hillary groupies

While her appearance did not rank up there with the unexpected cameo put in by conservative actress Stacey Dash at the 88th Annual Academy Awards, eyebrows were raised nonetheless upon seeing Monica Lewinsky rubbing shoulders with A-listers at the Vanity Fair Oscar Party.

Politicos may wonder if there was a veiled message being directed at Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton with Lewinski’s presence, or was it a harbinger of things to come — as if the 2016 election didn’t have enough intrigue already.

Eighteen years after her infamous dalliance with President Bill “I did not have sex with that woman” Clinton, the bright-eyed former White House intern is all grown up.

According to People Magazine, Lewinski’s appearance at the party follows her recent effort to team up with Vodafone in support of the new #BeStrong Emoji Keyboard app, to help teenagers “communicate support in a bullying situation.”

This being another step the shamed Lewinsky has taken to put the past behind her and find purpose in her life, as she described in a 5,000-plus-word dissertation on her affair with Clinton, titled Shame and Survival, published in Vanity Fair in 2014.

“I turned 40 last year, and it is time to stop tiptoeing around my past—and other people’s futures,” she wrote at the time. “I am determined to have a different ending to my story. I’ve decided, finally, to stick my head above the parapet so that I can take back my narrative and give a purpose to my past.”
