Sen. Marco Rubio didn’t seem ready for the question Jake Tapper asked him Sunday morning on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
“There’s a report this morning that Mitt Romney will endorse you this week,” Tapper said, as if he were announcing good news. “What would an endorsement from Mr. Romney mean to you?”
After an awkward pause – holding the “it hurts my face to smile like this” smile – Â Rubio responded unexpectedly.
“Well that report is false,” he said, oddly losing the smile. “I have no reason to believe that he’s anywhere near endorsing anyone.”
Rubio added that he’d love to have his endorsement, but it felt like an awkward question and answer. What do you think?
