Social media had a hilarious response to Ted Cruz‘s campaign altering a picture of President Obama and Marco Rubio.
The Cruz campaign initially posted a Photoshopped picture of the Florida senator shaking hands with the president by altering a photo of two other men shaking hands.

They appear to have put Rubio’s and Obama’s heads on the bodies of the two men in the original photo and then flipped the picture horizontally and made it black and white.
I did a quick google search. Is this the stock photo they used? @rickwtyler pic.twitter.com/srY2U0zqtR

After much backlash over the image, the Cruz campaign removed it and replaced it with a real one.

But the damage had already been done.
The Rubio campaign is using the photo to push the narrative that Cruz is dishonest and deceitful.
“This is not Marco Rubio,” Rubio senior advisor Todd Harris told reporters on Thursday in Greenville, S.C. “This person, we don’t know who that is, but they Photoshopped Marco’s face onto somebody else. This is how phony and how deceitful the Cruz campaign has become.”
Social media users just used it as an opportunity to create some side-splitting Photoshopped pictures of their own.
