The Obama administration is taking the fight against the Islamic State to Hollywood.
On Tuesday, Secretary of State John Kerry met with Tinseltown executives to talk about ways they could work together to counter the narrative surrounding ISIS.
The 90-minute meeting took place at Universal Studios and was organized by Jeff Shell, chairman of Universal Filmed Entertainment Group, according to Variety.
Kerry tweeted about the meeting Tuesday, but the public didn’t seem too enthused by the get together.

.@JohnKerry Shouldn’t that be something the @StateDept actually does? Who the hell is Hollywood to opine on foreign relations?

@JohnKerry When you have to get advice on ISIS from ‘studio execs,’ you might want to rethink your entire paradigm.

@JohnKerry @StateDept cuz studio execs are soooo relevant to the Daesh narrative. Stop wasting money.

Others were angry at the lack of diversity in the room.
@JohnKerry The imaginations of a room full of old wealthy (mostly) white (mostly) men will undoubtedly save the world.

@JohnKerry You might want to consult with Muslims in Hollywood, like @kamranpasha

@JohnKerry Hollywood diversity at its finest in that room. SO many perspectives! Wowie wowie!
— Catrina (@ohcatrina) February 17, 2016
@JohnKerry @StateDept mostly white male group of execs. so the perspectives & ideas represent the dominant narrative only. Biz as usual.
