Music superstars Kanye West and Taylor Swift are at it again and this time Team Taylor is coming out guns blazing.
West, who declared his intention to run for president at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards, took a shot at Swift in his new song “Famous” which he played at the presentation of the third season of his clothing line at Madison Square Garden on Thursday.
“For all my Southside n****s who will know me best, I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why, I made that b***h famous. G*d damn. I made that b***h famous,” the 38-year-old rapped.
The reference is presumably to a 2009 MTV Video Music Awards incident when West grabbed the microphone from Swift as she was accepting an award to declare that he thought Beyonce was better.
Fans and famous supporters of the 26-year-old award-winning singer were demonstrably angry at the remark.
Her younger brother Austin Swift fired one of the first shots by posting an Instagram video of himself trashing a pair of West’s brand “Yeezy” shoes.
Fashion Model Gigi Hadid and actress Jamie King, to whose child Swift is godmother, expressed their support as well.
My attendance somewhere does not mean I agree with everything being said in the music playing there. My friends know of my loyalty.

I’m so sad right now & disappointed right now. I stand by my sister. Always.

West said on social media that he got approval from Swift on those lyrics but the singer’s reps have denied that happened, according to the New York Post’s Page Six.
“Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that b***h famous,’” Swift’s representative told Page Six.
In fact West said a lot on social media about the controversy.

It wasn’t the first time this week West caused a firestorm on Twitter either.
Earlier he stirred up a hornets nest with a three word tweet defending Bill Cosby.
He certainly does know how to keep his name in the headlines.
