Beyonce didn’t know? BLM activists claim they secretly hijacked halftime to highlight police shooting

While it may come off as a crafty public relations campaign to isolate Beyoncé from the harsh fallout over her halftime performance at Super Bowl 50, a couple of activists are claiming the recording artist was unwittingly dragged into the controversy over an image of the performance that went viral.

Either way, it doesn’t explain the Black Panthers-themed costumes.

Beyoncé turned one of America’s greatest annual sporting events into a political propaganda statement with a halftime show honoring the controversial Black Lives Matter movement, but the Daily Mail said on Thursday that her performance was “hijacked” and that she knew nothing about it.

Pointing to “a grainy cellphone video and a picture that were seen by millions around the world” — it was an image of several halftime dancers holding a “Justice for Mario Woods” sign — the tabloid revealed “the full story:”

The star knew nothing about the decision by members of her dance troupe to join a protest by members of the Black Lives Matters organization on the pitch of the Levi’s Stadium about the death of Mario Jones until the video went viral the next morning.

Two determined political activists, angered over the shooting of the man by police, smuggled a dozen posters into the arena in their underwear and bags.

Ronnisha Johnson and Rheema Caloway told Daily Mail Online that they smuggled in a number of the signs to highlight the death of Woods, but only handed out one.

The ladies won tickets to the halftime show through a local radio station competition and seized their moment.

“We were led onto the pitch at halftime through a tunnel and it was crazy and breathtaking,” a proud Caloway said. “The noise from the crowd made me feel like I was Beyoncé. We were behind Beyoncé’s dancers and we were walked around them and to the sideline to watch the show.”

If past practice is any indication, the ladies may want to keep their calendar free come December — an invitation to the White House Christmas Party is not out of the question.
